Finding the Right Personal injury Lawyer Can Help You Understand Your Available Options

As the nation moves to finally reign in the ability of the tobacco industry in their efforts to advertise to teens, a new fight is brewing. In fact, the state of North Carolina has recently sued eight different electronic cigarette companies. Claiming that these manufacturers that push vaping are overwhelmingly doing so to teenagers. With flavors that are a huge draw to high schoolers, there are even some commercials that encourage teens to simply tell their parents that their electronic cigarette is merely a USB drive.

While the state of North Carolina is taking the vaping industry to court, the state of Nebraska state is changing its policy for e-cigarettes and tobacco products beginning September 1 of this year. The school resource officer at one of the largest schools in the state recently told high school newspaper reporters that, according to a new law, if a minor is caught with an e-cigarette or tobacco product they can be charged with a minor in possession (MIP) charge.

The recent change means that the state statute demands that if you are under 19 years of age as of September 1st and are caught with a nicotine delivery system you can be charged with a MIP. The quoted school resource officer indicated that he thinks students vaping in school cause an educational disruption.

Educators and law enforcement officials alike in the state of Nebraska are hoping that the new law will keep students from using these dangerous devices. In fact, all of the adults involved are hoping that by including educational videos as part of the process of returning to school after a suspension, teens who are caught vaping gin school will begin to understand the seriousness of these devices.
